McGinn's Hat Trick Lifts Gulls Over Regis

WESTON, MA - 2005 Conference Player of the Year Paula McGinn (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) notched a hat trick to lead the Gulls to a 5-1 win over Regis College. EC and Regis played to a 1-1 draw at the half before the Gulls netted four second-half goals powering them to the victory.

Endicott opened the scoring with a 20-yard strike by senior forward Caitlin D'Amario (East Longmeadow, MA/East Longmeadow) in the 15th minute before the Pride equalized on a corner kick finished off by junior midfielder Katelynn Shea (Westfield, MA) with sixteen minutes to play in the half.

The second half, however, belonged to McGinn. Striking her first of three consecutive goals merely eight minutes into the frame, the striker added a second a minute later and a third with twenty-six minutes to play, giving her the hat trick in less then ten minutes. Beth Carlson (Franklin, MA/Whitinsville Christian) added a goal in the final minutes of the game to seal the victory.

Regis' senior goalkeeper Megan O'Donnell Everett, MA made an impressive 20 saves in the losing effort. The loss drops the Pride to 1-4 overall, and 1-2 in CCC play. The Gulls improve to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the CCC. Endicott will next head to New London, NH to take on conference rivals, Colby-Sawyer on Saturday.
