Seniors Lead the Way in the Gulls First CCC Win

Beverly, MA--In their first CCC game of the 2004 season, EC defeated Curry College by a score of 3-0. Co-captain Stacey Lubas led the Gulls, scoring two goals and Leah Walters, scoring one.

In the first half, the Gulls dominated play, firing shots at the net, but unable to capitalize until the 27th minute. Receiving a pass from the right side, Walters found the back of the net, giving the Gulls a 1-0 advantage. Three minutes later, freshman Kelly Cosgrove, got in behind the defense, and crossed the ball to Stacey Lubas, who scored the Gulls second goal. The score remained the same for the rest of the half.

Nine minutes into the second half, the Gulls had a free kick from the 30 yard marker. Lubas fired a shot at the goal, finding the back of the net, capping the score at three.

Goalkeeper, Sarah Nichols recorded her second shutout of the season.

The women are back in action, when they host Roger Williams, this Saturday at 12PM.
