Gulls Fall To Wheaton College

Stats

Beverly, MA--Two of New England's top soccer teams battled against each other tonight. Endicott fought hard against Wheaton College, but fell by a score of 2-0. Seven minutes into the game, Wheaton's Jenna Rabesa found the back of the net to give WC the 1-0 advantage.

Play shifted back and forth during the 1st half, but the score remained the same for the rest of the half. The Endicott midfield was dominated by senior captain Stacey Lubas and freshman Margreta Weber. Both players made a valiant effort to win 50-50 balls, and find feet when transitioning from defense to offense.

Both teams came out fighting in the second half, but Wheaton struck again in the 50th minute, capping the score at 2-0. The Endicott defense was lead by senior captain Sarah Nichols and junior Allison Lyons.

The Gulls are back in action this Saturday when they host non-conference member Western Connecticut State at 11am.
