Women’s Rugby Tops Salve Regina In CCRC Championship, 34-31

MALDEN, Mass. – The Endicott club women's rugby team defeated Salve Regina, 34-31, in the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship on Sunday evening at Pine Banks Park.

Kelsey Joyce (Wharton, N.J.) was selected as the "Player of the Match" for scoring one penalty try, a penalty kick, and two conversions in the victory.

Meanwhile, Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) added two tries, Shannon O'Malley (Lewiston, Maine) notched one penalty try, and Amanda Wisbeck (Hong Kong, China) rounded out the scoring with a try of her own.

NOTES

  • Endicott beat Salve Regina earlier this season (9/15) at home, 45-38.
  • Today's win avenged a 63-14 loss against the Seahawks last year in the CCRC Championship.
  • This is the Gulls' first CCRC Championship victory since November 5, 2016. Endicott beat Plymouth State 46-17 in that match.

Endicott (8-0) will compete in the NSCRO Regional on Saturday, November 9 at Union College.
