Women’s Rugby Wins Babson 7’s Tournament

NEW ENGLAND COLLEGIATE RUGBY CIRCUIT STANDINGS

BABSON PARK, Mass. – The Endicott club women's rugby team won the Babson 7's Tournament on Sunday evening by outscoring its opponents 148-46 over five matches. 

The Gulls bested MIT (38-0), Mount Holyoke (32-0) and host Babson (40-12) in pool play then defeated Northeastern (15-12) in the semifinals and Babson, again, in the finals, 24-22.

Endicott's five wins also moved the Gulls from eighth place in the New England Collegiate Rugby Circuit standings to second place. 

Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) led Endicott offensively with eight tries and seven conversions.

The Gulls also saw Nicole McCardle (Castleton, Vt.) register three tries and four conversions, while Gianna D'Aprile (Millis, Mass.), Felicia Bouchard (Wales, Mass.) and Haley Goff (Manchester, N.H.) all had four tries, respectively.

Meanwhile, Jordan Zak (Brimfield, Mass.), Natalie Shambo (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Morgan Salvi (Wyckoff, N.J.) notched one try apiece to round out the list of highlights.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (22-5) will play in the University of Maine 7's Tournament on Saturday, April 13.
