Gulls Cruise Past Wheaton, 106-5

BEVERLY, Mass.  –  Last Saturday, the Endicott women's rugby team defeated their Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) opponent, Wheaton College, by a score of 106-5. The Gulls are now to 2-0 on the season.

Directly after kick off, Endicott jumped out early on the Lyons and never looked back. Momentum immediately swung in their favor during the first half and continued well until the very end of the match. Although junior Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) led the charge with seven tries in total, a solid team effort was displayed both offensively and defensively throughout the afternoon. Additional scoring contributions were made by the following student-athletes: 

Nicole McCardle (Castleton, Vt.) - 3 tries 
Shannon O'Malley (Lewiston, Maine) - 3 tries 
Semra Haxhillari (Albany, N.Y.) - 2 tries
Jordan Zak (Brimfield, Mass.) - 2 tries
Casey Joyce (Waltham, Mass.) - 1 try
Crista Alfano (Bow, N.H.) - 1 try 
Kelsey Joyce (Wharton, N.J.) - 5 conversions 

WHAT'S NEXT

Moving forward to Friday, September 28th at 7 PM, the Gulls will take on the Wildcats of Johnson and Wales University at Hempstead Stadium. In addition, Endicott will also be acknowledging the efforts and accomplishments of its senior student-athletes with a Senior Day ceremony prior to the kickoff.
