CHESWICK, Pa. – The Endicott club women's rugby team placed sixth overall at the National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) 7s National Championships this past weekend.

In pool play on Saturday, The Gulls opened up the tournament with back-to-back wins over Widener, 15-5, and Findley, 28-5, before falling to Lee, 24-12, and York, 30-12.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, Endicott blanked Denison, 24-0, prior to losing to Rochester, 29-12, in the tournament's fifth place match.

The Gulls' sixth place finish this season marks a seven-place improvement from last year's 13th place finish at the 2017 NSCRO 7s National Championships.

"I'm very proud of this team. They have worked all season on how to attack and pin defenders and it showed this weekend," said Endicott club women's rugby head coach Emily Record. "Last night, we made some adjustments in defense and the team implemented them today on the field. It was a great weekend and we are already starting to think about next year."

Endicott's season now comes to a close at 25-12-1 overall.
