Women’s Rugby Goes 2-2 At Wesleyan (Conn.) 7s Tournament

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The Endicott club women's rugby team went 2-2 overall at the Wesleyan (Conn.) 7s Tournament on Sunday evening. The Gulls fell to Bentley twice - once to begin the tournament (27-5) and again in the championship match (24-21) - but picked up victories against Wheaton (37-0) and Wesleyan (37-5) to highlight the tournament. 

Amanda Poulin (Turner, Maine) led the Gulls' offensively on the day with nine tries and one conversion. 

Morgan Salvi (Wyckoff, N.J.) added three tries, while Samantha Hontas (Lyme, N.H.) and Emma Rusconi (Guilford, Conn.) chipped in with two tries apiece. Julie Rentz (South Windsor, Conn.), Margaret Birge (Rindge, N.H.), and Jennifer Lefebvre (Holyoke, Mass.) also registered one try apiece on the day. Lefebvre stood out among the group as the freshman prop scored her first collegiate try against Wheaton.

Meanwhile, Rentz rounded out the scoring with four conversions as well.
