Women's Lacrosse Places Eight On All-CNE Postseason Teams; Spellman Earns Coach of the Year Honors

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's lacrosse team has claimed 10 total awards in this season's Conference of New England (CNE) Postseason Awards, as announced by the league office on Thursday afternoon.

Headling the group was head coach Maureen Spellman who was named Coach of the Year in the conference for the fourth time in her career (2019, 2023, 2024, and 2025) and third consecutive year.

Additionally, five Gulls were named to the First Team All-Conference team, one named to the Second Team, two were recognized on the Third team, and one to the Community Service Team.

Lastly, Emily Typrowicz (Palos Verdes, Calif.) was named as the Gulls' representative on the CNE Community Service Team for her charitable contributions and outstanding leadership within the Endicott community.

The remaining award winners for the Gulls include:

ALL-CNE FIRST TEAM

A – Leah Black (Cheshire, Conn.)
A – Bailey Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.)
M - Mia Smith (Portsmouth, N.H.)
D – Tori Apostolakes (Chelmsford, Mass.)
D – Kaitlyn DiLoreto (East Lyme, Conn.)

ALL-CNE SECOND TEAM

M – Abbie Belleville (Salem, Conn.)

ALL-CNE THIRD TEAM

M – Jaira Paine (Granby, Conn.) 
D – Marin Kalamaras (Redding, Conn.)


LEAH BLACK | ATTACK | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE

In 18 games this season (17 starts), Black has set new career highs in goals (45), assists (27), and points (72). The junior leads Endicott in goals and went over 100 career points in the Gulls' win over Gordon on 4/23.

This is her first career All-Conference Honor.


BAILEY SHEEHAN | ATTACK | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE

Sheehan has started all 18 games this season, and the senior has had a career year with 43 goals, 32 assists, and 75 points. The Pomfret, Conn., leads the team in both assists and points, along with going over 100 career points in the victory over Western New England back on April 5.

This is Sheehan's first career All-Conference honor.


MIA SMITH | MIDFIELD | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE

A starter in all 18 games this season, Smith continues to improve season-to-season as she has scored 39 goals and has 24 assists for 63 points, which are all career highs. The junior has been a key part of the Gulls' draw control as she has 59 this season.

The first team All-Conference honor is the first of Smith's career and her third career all-conference after being named to the third team in 2023 and the second team in 2024.


TORI APOSTOLAKES | DEFENSE | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE

Apostolakes has been a key part of the Endicott defense in every game so far this season, registering 17 caused turnovers, 19 ground balls, and winning four draw controls. Twice this season, the sophomore has had a career-high three caused turnovers, against RIT and Western New England.

The All-Conference honor is the first of Apostolakes' career.


KAITLYN DiLORETO | DEFENSE | FIRST TEAM ALL-CNE

DiLorteo has appeared in 17 games for Endicott with 14 starts and leads the team in caused turnovers with 29 and ground balls with 39. In 10 games this season, the sophomore has had two or more caused turnovers in a game, and in six games, has had three.

DiLorteo has been named to an All-Conference team for the first time in her career.


ABBIE BELLEVILLE | MIDFIELD | SECOND TEAM ALL-CNE

The lone representative for Endicott on the Second Team, Belleville has set new career highs in goals and points with 18 and 22, respectively. Another key part of the Gulls' draw control unit, the sophomore has 57 draw controls this season.

The second-team honor is the first of Belleville's career.


JAIRA PAINE | MIDFIELD | THIRD TEAM ALL-CNE

Paine has been a key figure in the Gulls' midfield this season as she has scored 16 goals and had 10 assists for 26 points. The grad student also has 39 draw controls and was another member of the Gulls this season that reached 100 career points when she did so on 4/12 against Wentworth.

This is Paine's third career All Conference honor and second third team honor of her career.


MARIN KALAMARAS | DEFENSE | THIRD TEAM ALL-CNE

Kalamaras has appeared in every game this season for the Gulls with 17 starts as the sophomore has caused 16 turnovers and collected 22 ground balls. The Redding, Conn. native has five games this season in which she caused multiple turnovers, including three against No. 2 Tufts.

Kalamaras has earned All-Conference honors for the first time in her career.


MAUREEN SPELLMAN | HEAD COACH | EIGHTH YEAR
Coach of the Year

Spellman and the rest of the coaching staff led Endicott to its 10th undefeated conference season in program history.

The Gulls led the league in ground balls (213), ground balls per game (23.67), and caused turnovers (106).

Spellman is 88-38 overall (.698) and 52-2 in conference games (.963) in her eight seasons (2018-present) at the helm of the program.                                                              

During that span, Endicott has won three conference championships (2018, 2019, and 2024) and advanced to the title game in every season.


WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-4) advanced to the CNE Championship for the 19th time in program history after defeating Nichols, 2406, on Wednesday afternoon in the CNE Semifinals. The first-seed Gulls will now host No. 3 seed Hartford on Saturday, May 4 at 4 PM for the CNE Championship.
