No. 11 Wesleyan Bests Women’s Lacrosse, 13-6

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — The Endicott women's lacrosse team fell to No. 11 nationally ranked Wesleyan (Conn.), 13-6, on Sunday afternoon at Smith Field.

Katie Schenk (Southbury, Conn.) guided the offense with two goals and two assists.

The Gulls also received solo tallies from Kiana Napolitano (Revere, Mass.), Alex Palermo (Reading, Mass.), Tori Hurley (Glastonbury, Conn.), and Carly Pierce (Exeter, N.H.).

Defensively, Lydia Akins (Edina, Minn.) stopped five shots in the loss (3-2), while Gabriella Prisco (West Haven, Conn.) compiled two draw controls, four ground balls, and six caused turnovers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Wesleyan is 3-1 at home this season.
  • The Cardinals are ranked No. 11 in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Poll.
  • Wesleyan led 8-1 at halftime (5-1 in the first, 3-0 in the second) and never looked back.

Endicott (3-2) travels to Framingham State on Saturday, March 26 at 12 PM. No. 11 Wesleyan (4-1) hosts Western Connecticut State on Wednesday, March 23 at 6 PM.
