Endicott Sweeps CCC Weekly Awards

CCC WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's lacrosse saw Jackie Healy (Northborough, Mass.)Bella Rino (Northborough, Mass.) and Julia Lantieri (Glastonbury, Conn.) claim Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today. Healy picked up Offensive Player of the Week honors while Rino was selected as the Defensive Player of the Week and Lantieri was named Rookie of the Week. 

Healy helped lead Endicott to its third straight CCC Tournament title with three points in the league tournament. She had an assist in her team's 19-3 victory over No. 5 seed Western New England in the semifinal round before registering two goals, including the game-winner in overtime, in the Championship game against second-seeded Roger Williams.

Rino backstopped Endicott to its third straight CCC Tournament Championship with a pair of double-digit save performances in the playoffs. Rino opened the tournament making 10 saves, while only allowing three goals in a 19-3 win over No. 5 seed Western New England. She then made 11 stops in the CCC Championship game against No. 2 seed Roger Williams, an 11-10 overtime victory. She had a 61.8 save percentage in the tournament and 6.41 goals-against average.

Lantieri netted a goal in each of Endicott's CCC Tournament games this week as the Gulls captured the 2019 CCC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship. She was also a key contributor defensively, racking up nine draw controls, five ground balls, and four caused turnovers as her team progressed through the bracket. During the Championship game, she forced a turnover that led to the game-winning overtime goal.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (14-5) faces Misericordia in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 11 at 1 PM. Saturday's contest will be hosted by York College (Pa.).
