ALL-DISTRICT® FIRST TEAM RELEASE ALL-TIME ENDICOTT COSIDA HONOREES LIST

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's ice hockey student-athletes Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska), and Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) have received CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's At-Large First Team honors, as announced by the organization today.

Meier and Gibbs will now appear on the national ballot for selection to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Women's At-Large Team, which will be voted on by Sports Information Directors from across the country and be released June 15-19.   

This is the first time both student-athletes have received CoSIDA Academic All-District® Women's At-Large First Team honors in their respective careers, and the first two members of the Endicott women's ice hockey program to receive the honor.


JADE MEIER | SR. | F | FAIRBANKS, ALASKA

In the classroom, Meier is a marketing and finance double major with a GPA of 3.94 and is a member of both the Sigma Beta Delta Mortar Board honor societies.

Meier also is a three-time member of the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) All-Academic team, a three-time American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholar, and has been named to the Dean's List multiple times. 

In the fall and winter of 2019, Meier completed an internship with Vantage Point Financial out of Boston, Mass. as a research analyst intern. At Vantage Point, Meier completed many tasks which included assisting in client meeting preparation using Morningstar, Riskalyze, and other financial planning software, performing portfolio construction and rebalancing.

Furthermore, Meier analyzed clients' current holdings and aided in proposing realigned low-cost investments and established investment opportunities for clients with a specific focus, like low carbon.

On the ice, Meier was the first women's ice hockey student-athlete named CHC Player of the Year, a New England Hockey Writers Association Women's Division III All-Star, and was named to the 2019-20 CCM Hockey/AHCA Division II-III Women's All-American East Second Team.

The senior winger led the Gulls in points (39), and assists (26), and was tied for first in game-winning goals (4). She also was second on the team in goals (13) and tied for third in plus-minus (+21). 

In the CHC, Meier ranked first in points, and assists, tied for first in plus-minus, and third in goals.

Meier also found her name in the Endicott women's ice hockey record books this season, setting single-season records for points, assists, points per game, and assists per game. She also became Endicott's all-time leader in assists (62) and surpassed 100 career games.


JILLIAN GIBBS | SR. | F | BURLINGTON, VT.

Academically, Gibbs sports a 3.85 GPA as a criminal justice and psychology double major. 

Gibbs, a four-time member of the CHC All-Academic team and three-time AHCA All-American Scholar is also the vice president of the Alpha Phi Sigma International Criminal Justice Honor Society at The Nest and is a member of Psi Chi International Psychology Honor Society.

Furthermore, she's served as a peer tutor since 2017 and participates in the Law and Justice Club. 

For one of her three internships, Gibbs worked with the U.S. Marshals Service in Burlington, Vt. During her time there, she supported active U.S. Marshal agents with fieldwork including the creation of prisoner files, opened warrant case files, investigated and gathered details on persons of interest via federal databases and websites for open cases.

Gibbs also researched individuals with outstanding warrants and compiled a biweekly Top-10 list which was disseminated to the public, seeking leads for the specified, on-going cases. 

Additionally, she shadowed agents in the field, learning person and house surveillance techniques, and created and execution of tactical operation plans.

Her athletic accomplishments include being named to the 2019-20 All-CHC First Team, becoming the program's all-time leader in goals and the first student-athlete in program history to earn 100 career points. 

Meanwhile, this season she was tied for first on the team in goals (15), second in total points (34), and second in power-play goals (7). 


CoSIDA Academic All-District® Program Requirements

The CoSIDA Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic performances.

All First Team Academic All-District® winners, which includes eight districts total, move to the national ballot and are then voted upon to the national team by members of CoSIDA's Academic All-America Committee. Endicott's district – District 1 – includes all schools from Massachusetts and Maine.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at his current institution and be nominated by his sports information director.

Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 15,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
