Meier, Peterson Named To CCM Hockey/AHCA Division II-III Women’s All-American East Second Team

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's ice hockey student-athletes Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) and Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) have been named to the 2019-20 CCM Hockey/AHCA Division II-III Women's All-American East Second Team the organization announced earlier today. 

Meier and Peterson become the first two players in Endicott women's ice hockey history to garner All-American honors. 

JADE MEIER | F | Sr. | Fairbanks, Alaska 

The Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Player of the Year, Meier led the Gulls in points (39), and assists (26) and was tied for first in game-winning goals (4). She was second on the team in goals (13) and tied for third in plus-minus (+21). 

In the CHC, Meier ranked first in points, and assists, tied for first in plus-minus, and third in goals.

Among all NCAA Division III women's ice hockey student-athletes, Meier ranked second in assists per game (.96) Meier ranked 11th in points per game (1.44).

Meanwhile, this season Meier set single-season records for points, assists, points per game, and assists per game. She also became Endicott's all-time leader in assists (62) and surpassed 100 career games.

The All-American honor comes after a historic season for Peterson, who was named Colonial Hockey Conference Goaltender of the Year for her efforts this season. 

The senior netminder led the CHC in goals against average, (1.12), save percentage (.957), win percentage (.895), total goals against (21), and wins (17).

Nationwide, Peterson ranked third in save percentage (.957), tied for third in shutouts (7), fourth in winning percentage (.895), and seventh in goals against average (1.12).

In addition to her stellar numbers, Peterson had 20 or more saves in 10 games, 30 or more saves in four games, set a career-high for saves, 43 on January 4, 2020, and was named the Colonial Hockey Conference Tournament MVP.  

YEAR IN REVIEW

Endicott went 25-2 overall and 16-0 in CHC play. The Gulls captured their second straight CHC championship with a 4-1 win over UNE on March 7. This season the Gulls set regular-season records for overall wins, and conference wins and earned their highest-ever national ranking of No. 7. Endicott was scheduled to take on Middlebury in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III women's ice hockey tournament, but the game was canceled as the NCAA made the decision to cancel all NCAA winter and spring championships due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
