McPhee Named 2019-20 Division III Women's CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year Finalist

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott women's ice hockey head coach Andrew McPhee has been named one of nine finalists for the 2019-20 Division III Women's CCM/AHCA Coach of the Year, the organization announced earlier today. 

The 2019-20 Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Coach of the Year, McPhee led the team to program records in overall wins (25) and conference victories (16). McPhee also led Endicott to its first NCAA quarterfinal appearance in program history, highest ever national ranking (No. 7), and 50th overall conference win. 

Under his leadership, in the CHC, the Gulls ranked first in goals (95), goals allowed (30), power-play percentage (33%), penalty kill percentage (92.9%), goals per game (3.52), and goals-against average (1.11).

In conference play only, the Gulls averaged 3.88 goals per game, had a goals-against-average of under one (.93), converted on 29.4 % of power play opportunities, and had a penalty kill percentage of 93.9%, all of which led the CHC.  

Nationally, this season, Endicott ranked first on the power play (33.0%), second in team winning percentage (.926), fourth on the penalty kill (92.9%), fourth in combined special teams (59.1%), eighth in scoring defense (1.11), eighth in scoring margin (2.41), and 10th in scoring offense (3.52). 

In his five years as head coach of the Gulls, McPhee has compiled a 99-24-11 (.780) overall record and a 55-6-5 (.871) record in conference play.
