No. 9 Endicott Comes From Behind To Top UNE, 2-1

BIDDEFORD, Maine. – The No. 9 nationally ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated UNE, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon at Harold Alfond Forum. 

After falling behind, 1-0, the Gulls responded just 31 seconds later through Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) who tied the game at one at 3:42 of the first period, with her 15th goal of the season. 

Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.) then gave the Gulls a 2-1 lead at 13:33 of the second period with her 11th goal of the season. 

Meanwhile, Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) made 26 saves to earn her 15th win of the season. The senior netminder was huge in the third period for the Gulls stopping 12 UNE shots. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott has finished the conference regular season undefeated for the first time in program history.
  • The Gulls have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Tournament.
  • Lauren Ferraiuolo (North Haven, Conn.)Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.)Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine), and Gibbs all earned assists tonight for the Gulls.
  • Endicott now leads the all-time series over UNE, 6-1. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

No. 9 Endicott (23-2-0, 16-0-0 CHC) will host the winner of Becker and Salve Regina in the semi-final round of the CHC tournament on Saturday, at 4 PM.
