Gibbs, Endicott Surge Past Stevenson, 5-1

REISTERSTOWN, Md. — Behind a Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) hattrick, the Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Stevenson, 5-1 in nonconference action at Reisterstown Sportsplex. 

Also, scoring for the Gulls in the victory were Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.), and Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.). 

Meanwhile, Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) made 26 saves to improve to 6-1-0 on the season. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Today's game served as a charity event for the Laughlin Family Foundation. To learn more about the foundation and their mission click here.
  • Gibbs' hattrick was the first of her career. 
  • All of Gibbs' goals came on the powerplay. Endicott's powerplay which is 17/49 on the year is currently ranked first in all of NCAA Division III. 
  • Ashley Keaveney (Exeter, N.H.) notched her first collegiate point with an assist on Endicott's fourth goal. 
  • Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.), Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska), Meaghan Francis (Woodbridge, Conn.), and Jones also had assists today for the Gulls. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (10-1) will host Hamilton on Saturday, January 4 at 3 PM. Stevenson (4-5-2) will travel to King's (Pa.) on Sunday, January 12 for a 5 PM contest.
