Women’s Ice Hockey Tops Salve Regina, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Salve Regina University, 3-0, on Friday evening in conference action at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Endicott received a pair goals from Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Maine) and Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) in the second period, and another from Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) in the third (9:55) to claim the victory. Both goals from Sullivan (12:50) and Gibbs came on the power play.

Meanwhile, Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) stopped 22 shots to improve to 2-0-0 on the season and earn her sixth career shutout.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 5-0-1 in the all-time series against Salve Regina.
  • All three goals were double-assisted for the Gulls in the win. Endicott saw Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.), Madison Huber (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Caroline Hughes (Andover, Mass.), Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.), Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska), and Nicole Demers (Avon, Conn.) all notch helpers.
  • McNamara and Meier blocked a game-high (tied) four shots apiece.
  • Sullivan won a team-high nine faceoffs.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-1-1, 2-1-0 CHC) travels to Salve Regina (1-6-0, 1-4-0 CHC) tomorrow at 2 PM. The game will be played at the St. George's School Ice Rink.
