CHC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 2 Endicott Set To Face No. 1 Morrisville State

CHC TOURNAMENT RELEASE / BRACKET

BEVERLY, Mass. – The second-seeded Endicott women's ice hockey team (19-5-2) will face off against No. 1 seed Morrisville State (16-7-3) in the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) championship game on Sunday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. The championship game will all be held at the Morrisville State IcePlex.

Ticket prices for Sunday's game are as follows: students and senior citizens are $2 and adults are $4 (children under 12 are not charged admission).

HOW THEY GOT HERE: Endicott defeated SUNY Canton, 4-0, in the semifinal round on Saturday, March 3. The Gulls saw goals from Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.), Caroline Hughes (Andover, Mass.), Dynnea Bezona (Fairbanks, Alaska), and Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.).  

Morrisville State posted a 6-0 victory over Nichols in the semifinal round on Saturday, March 3. Scoring for the Mustangs were Jessica Ujcik (Munich, Germany), Ts'setkwu Dunstan (Kamloops, British Columbia), Alexziz Giannamore (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Bailey Dillabough (Massena, N.Y.), Maddison Devlin (Campbell River, British Columbia), and Sierra Voeller (Penticton, British Columbia).

THE MATCHUP/SERIES HISTORY: Endicott and Morrisville are meeting for the ninth time in program history and the Mustangs lead the series 4-3-1. Morrisville won the two previous meetings this season with a 3-1 win on Feb. 9 and a 2-0 victory on Feb. 10.

SCOUTING ENDICOTT: The Gulls enter the championship game leading the conference in goals per game (3.08) and total goals (37) after 12 regular season CHC contests. Endicott is second in the league in goals allowed with 15. 
The teams will look to several players to generate offense including Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) and Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska). Gibbs leads the conference in points (28) and assists (16) and is third in goals (12). Meier is currently tied for second in points (26), third in assists (15), and fourth in goals (11). 

Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) has an overall season record of 13-5-1 in net for the Gulls and leads all conference goaltenders in win percentage (.711), is second in GAA (1.44), and third in save percentage (.940). 

SCOUTING MORRISVILLE: Morrisville State enters the championship game tied for second in the conference in goals per game (2.83) and total goals (34) after 12 regular season CHC games. 

Giannamore currently is second in the conference in goals with 13. Goaltender Karoline Arvik (Trondheim, Norway) has an overall record of 16-7-3 in net for the Mustangs and leads the conference in GAA (1.20) and is second in save percentage (.951)

WHAT'S AT STAKE

The winner of this contest will be named CHC Champion and get the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
