No. 2/3 Norwich Defeats No. 10 Endicott, 4-1

Lauren Ferraiuolo looks for a teammate to pass the puck to.

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The No. 10 nationally-ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team was handed a 4-1 loss by No. 2/3 Norwich on Wednesday evening.

Both teams got several good looks on net in the beginning of the first period, but the Cadets ultimately struck first to take a 1-0 lead on a goal from Amanda Conway (Methuen, Mass.)

Norwich opened the second frame with a tally from Nicole Goebel (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) to extend the lead to 2-0.

The Gulls, however, cut the deficit to 2-1 when Lauren Ferraiuolo (North Haven, Conn.) tallied her fourth goal of the season at the 14:48 mark. Ferraiuolo gathered the puck after a faceoff and took a hard shot from the point which sailed past Norwich netminder, Laurie King (Waddington, N.Y.).

Adrieana Rossini (Malden, Mass.) found the back of the net in the closing minutes of the second period to give the Cadets a 3-1 lead.

Endicott goaltender, Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) came up with several huge saves in the third period to keep the game close but Rossini was able to score an empty-net goal with less than one minute remaining in regulation to secure the 4-1 victory for Norwich.

Jonsson made 33 saves in net and shifted to 10-2-1 on the season with the loss.
