Gulls Blank Pilgrims, 5-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 7/10 nationally-ranked Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated New England College, 5-0 on Friday afternoon at the Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

The Gulls saw five goals from five different players as they shutout the Pilgrims. Courtney Walpole (Allen, Texas) netted the first goal of the game with just over 30 seconds remaining in the first frame. 

Jade Meier (Fairbanks, Alaska) and Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.) tallied goals in the second period to put the Gulls up 3-0.

Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) netted her ninth of the season at the 4:36 mark of the third frame, while Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with one second remaining in regulation. 

Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) made 14 saves in net to improve to 10-0-1 on the season.

  • Jackie Clark shifted to 1-8-1 on the season with the loss and recorded 49 saves. 
  • Alexa Scribner led the offense with three shots.

No. 7/10 Endicott (13-0-1) hosts No. 7/8 Middlebury on Saturday, January 13 at 3:30 p.m for a nonconference matchup. New England College (1-12-1) travels to Salem State for a 2:00 p.m. contest on Saturday, January 13.
