VIDEO: GIBBS' OT GAME-WINNING GOAL
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman forward Jillian Gibbs (Burlington, Vt.) scored her third career game-winning goal with 2:51 remaining in overtime to complete the Gulls' comeback victory over SUNY Canton, 3-2, on Saturday afternoon at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
Gibbs rifled home a wide-open one-timer shot from the left post behind SUNY Canton goaltender Brooke Susac (Bowmanville, Ontario) after Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.) gathered a feed behind the net from Ellen Carter (Roseville, Minn.) and slipped it into the slot from behind the right side of the net.
The OT GWG from Gibbs also extended Endicott's winning streak to five-straight games, moved the Gulls' overall record to 17-2-1 on the season, and kept them undefeated in league play at 8-0-0. SUNY Canton dropped to 7-10-1 overall, and 2-4-0 in conference play with today's loss.
SUNY Canton led 2-0 through the first as Sydney Kinder (New York, N.Y.) and Tess Adams (Calgary, Alberta) potted goals at 10:21 and 16:57, respectively, in the period. Endicott responded in the second with tallies from Courtney Walpole (Allen, Texas) and Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.) just one minute apart (5:05-6:05), before Gibbs' GWG emptied Endicott's bench onto to the ice to celebrate in the overtime period.
Gulls' freshman netminder Alyssa Peterson (Cranberry Township, Pa.) stopped 18 shots in the win (4-1-0), while Susac had 40 saves in the loss (7-8-1).

- Endicott is 5-0-0 in the all-time series versus SUNY Canton.

- Adams scored her team-leading 13th goal of the season at 16:57 of the second by securing a loose puck near Endicott's bench, skating across the ice and into the Gulls' defensive zone untouched before she sniped home a shot glove side on Peterson.
- Jessica Pele (Estevan SK) picked up her fifth assist of the year on Kinder's tally at 10:21 of the first.

Endicott (17-2-1, 8-0-0 CHC) travels to Morrisville State next Friday and Saturday for a pair of league games at 4 PM and 2 PM, respectively.
