Women’s Ice Hockey, Wesleyan Play To 2-2 (OT) Draw

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team and Wesleyan University skated to a 2-2 overtime tie on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena in the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.) put the Gulls within one at the 5:22 mark of the period when she converted a power play goal on a beautiful tick-tack-toe setup from Michaela McNamara (Warwick, R.I.) and Caroline Hughes (Andover, Mass.), while Lexi Klein (Shoreview, Minn.) tied up the contest on a give-and-go feed with Teneal Perry (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada) at 9:48.

Endicott netminder Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) then kept the Cardinals honest for the remainder of the third, and overtime, by stopping five shots down the stretch to clinch the tie for the Gulls.
