Women’s Ice Hockey Lands Six On CHC All-Academic Team

CHC ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team has placed six student-athletes on the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) All-Academic Team, as announced by the league office earlier today. The six student-athletes named to the list were Chloe Castellano (Wilmington, Mass.), Samantha Crowley (Leicester, Mass.), Mackenzie Dutton (Andover, Mass.), Maggie Layo (Sandwich, Mass.), Alicia Steeves (Chelmsford, Mass.), and Lauren Yakush (South Glens Falls, N.Y.).

To be eligible for All-Academic recognition a student-athlete must carry a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and have completed one full-year at their current institution. Five CHC programs were represented with 35 student-athletes in total earning All-Academic Team honors. Stevenson University led the way with 15 honorees, while Salem State University (8), Endicott (6), SUNY Canton (5), and Johnson & Wales University (1) followed in respective order.

Endicott finished its first-year as an NCAA Division III varsity program in 2015-16 with a 14-7-4 overall record (11-1-2 CHC) en route to an appearance in the CHC Tournament championship game.
