Vendela Jonsson Named Colonial Hockey Conference Rookie Of The Week

COLONIAL HOCKEY CONFERENCE WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman goaltender Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) has been named the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.

In the Gulls only game of the week last Saturday, Jonsson stopped a career-high 48 shots in a 5-0 loss to No. 7 nationally ranked Middlebury. So far this season, Jonsson has been named the CHC Rookie of the Week three times, counting today's award, and the CHC Goaltender of the Week twice.

Jonsson currently ranks first among all goaltenders in the CHC in goals against (19), and second in goals against average (1.57), save percentage (.934), and wins (6). Jonsson also ranks sixth in the conference in saves (268).

Endicott (8-5-2) hosts Bowdoin on Tuesday, January 19 at Raymond J. Bourque Arena at 7 p.m.
