Vendela Jonsson Named Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Rookie Of The Week

COLONIAL HOCKEY CONFERENCE WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshman goaltender Vendela Jonsson (Linkoping, Sweden) has been named the Colonial Hockey Conference (CHC) Rookie of the Week for her performances in a pair of games against Stevenson University last weekend.

Jonsson posted 40 saves and recorded one shutout in a 0-1-1 week for the Gulls against visiting Stevenson. On Friday, Johnsson kept the Gulls within striking distance registering 20 saves including nine in the third period in a losing effort. She followed that up with another 20 saves on Saturday to secure the overtime shutout tie vs. the undefeated Mustangs.

Currently on the season, Jonsson is 4-1-1 in six games played (all starts) with a 0.33 goals against average, 88 saves, a .978 save percentage, and five shutouts.

Endicott (6-1-1, 4-1-1 CHC) travels to Southern Maine on Friday, December 4 for a non-conference contest at 7 PM.
