Women’s Ice Hockey Earns First-Ever Win At Raymond J. Bourque Arena Versus JWU, 2-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team posted a 2-0 decision over Johnson & Wales University (JWU) on Saturday evening to claim the first-ever win at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

After JWU sophomore goaltender Kami Weiner (Elk Grove Village, Ill.) held the Gulls scoreless in the first period by stopping 27 shots on goal, Endicott finally broke into the scoring column at the 16:15 mark of the second when Rachel Lustenring (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) buried a rebound in front of the crease.

Freshman defenseman Danielle Comorre (Tujunga, Calif.) was credited with an assist on the tally as her shot and ensuing rebound initiated the point-blank scoring opportunity for Lustenring and the Gulls.

Thirty-six seconds later, Meredith Vlachos (East Bridgewater, Mass.) went on to pad the lead with a shot off her own faceoff win (right side) for her first collegiate goal of her career.

Endicott controlled play the rest of the way amassing 13 more shots in the second period and 74 shots on goal in total in the victory.
