Ella Thompson enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Endicott women’s basketball program in 2024-25. She was officially hired on May 29, 2024.

Thompson joins the staff following a six-year career as a basketball trainer at Marlin Academy in Indianapolis, Indiana. 

During her time at Marlin Academy, Thompson was responsible for developing individualized training programs for athletes of all skill levels to enhance their basketball knowledge and skill set.

Her other coaching experiences include serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Indiana, and participating in the 2024 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) “So You Wanna Be A Coach” program. 

Thompson graduated from Bentley University in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in economics-finance and a minor in psychology.

Thompson was a four-year starter for the Bentley women’s basketball program amassing 118 games played (110 starts), 30.7 minutes per game, 10.9 points, 1,282 total points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Thompson currently ranks fourth all-time in career three-point field goals made (234) and single-season three-point field goals made (74, 2023-24).

The sharpshooting guard earned numerous accolades throughout her career including Northeast-10 Conference (NE10) Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team honors in 2019-20; three NE10 All-Conference selections (second, 21-22; third, 22-23; first, 23-24); and a nod to the 2023 NE10 All-Championship Team.

As a program, the Falcons won three NE10 Conference Championships (2022-24), posted an 87-34 overall record (.719), and a 59-21 conference mark (.738) during her time in Waltham.

Thompson served as team captain of the 2023-24 squad that went 27-6 overall (18-4 NE10), won the NE10 Championship over Southern Connecticut State, 64-49, and advanced to the NCAA Division II East Region Semifinals.

She also served as the Bentley University Camp Commissioner as an undergrad overseeing the day-to-day activities for the top league at camp which included skill stations, team practices, and daily lectures.

Aside from her coaching responsibilities at Endicott, Thompson is currently pursuing her MBA from Bentley.
