Women’s Basketball Defeats Nichols, 102-66

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball defeated Nichols, 102-66, Tuesday night at Macdonald Gymnasium.

The Gulls got off to a strong start opening the game on a 28-6 run in the first quarter and never looked back from there.

It was both their offense and defense that got the job done throughout the first frame as they forced nine Nichols turnovers, including six steals and 11 defensive rebounds.

Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) paced the Gulls in scoring with 15 points. Following was Mikaela Rogers (Haverhill, Mass.) with 14 points. 

Also contributing offensively for the Gulls were Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.) and Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) who each had 11 points. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott continues to lead the all-time series over Nichols, 27-5. The Gulls have won ten straight versus the Bison dating back to 12/02/15.
  • Tonight's performance is the highest scoring contest for the Gulls this season. It is also their second highest-scoring contest of all-time.
  • The Gulls led wire to wire.
  • Endicott had 13 student-athletes contribute points in tonight's contest. 
  • The Gulls had 35 points off of turnovers tonight.

Endicott (9-9, 7-3 CCC) hosts Salem State University on Thursday, January 30 at 7:00 PM. Nichols (5-13, 3-7 CCC) takes on the University of New England on Saturday, February 1 at 1:00 PM.
