BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Endicott women's basketball team traveled to the University of New England and defeated the six-time defending CCC champions by a score of 71-60.

The Nor'easters jumped out to a 16-10 lead in the first 10 minutes of play, but the Gulls went on a 9-0 run to open the second quarter and gain a 19-16 lead.

UNE responded in the closing minutes of the quarter to take a slight 28-25 edge at the half.

The third quarter was much like the first two, with several lead changes as both teams fought for the advantage. Eventually, the Gulls began to pull away and took a 50-44 lead with 10 minutes remaining in regulation.

Endicott held UNE to a field goal percentage of just 20.0 percent in the fourth quarter which helped the Gulls secure the 71-60 victory.

Individually, Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) led the Gulls with 23 points, while Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) added 18. Catie Lipscomb (West Springfield, Mass.) recorded 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds.

H3 is starting the conversation to help break the negative stigma that surrounds issues regarding mental health.
