Endicott Runs Past Nichols, 60-49

DUDLEY, Mass. — The Endicott women's basketball team traveled to Nichols College for a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) contest and came away with a 60-49 victory.

Both teams battled in the opening minutes of the first quarter but the Gulls gained the lead at the 3:45 mark and continued to build that advantage throughout the remainder of the quarter and the second frame. Endicott went into halftime with a 35-25 lead. 

In the third quarter, the Gulls held the Bison to just seven points to stretch their lead to 52-32. 

Nichols wouldn't go down without a fight in the final 10 minutes of regulation but Endicott held on to secure the 60-49 win.

Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) led the Gulls with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) and Lexi Gellerman (West Hartford, Conn.) both netted nine points.  

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott has now won the last seven contests against the Bison. 
  • The Gulls held a 51-34 rebound advantage throughout the contest. 
  • Isabella Nerny (Guilford, Conn.) led Nichols with 19 points.
  • Jessica Larsh (Bolton, Conn.), Ciarri Formby-Lavertu (Mount Vernon, N.H.), and Shannon St. Lawrence (Milton, N.H.) all pulled down six rebounds for the Bison.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (4-2, 2-0 CCC) travels to Wesleyan (Conn.) on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7 PM. Nichols (3-4, 1-1 CCC) travels to Curry for a 7:30 PM PM game on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
