Defending ECAC DIII New England Champions, Women's Basketball, Releases 2014-15 Schedule

2014-15 Endicott Women's Basketball Schedule

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team is eager to get back on the court as they release the 2014-15 schedule. The Gulls are coming off of a record breaking season where they finished at 23-7 (14-4 CCC), their best finish in program history, while conquering the ECAC Division III New England championship title. The title marked the first championship in the women's basketball programs 21 seasons.

To get prepared for the season ahead, Coach Hutchinson will take her team to Smith College for a tournament hosting Smith, Rivier and Middlebury. Last season the Gulls faced the Pioneers in the ECAC DIII New England finals where the Blue and Green lifted to a 79-76 victory. Endicott leads the Pioneers 2-1 all-time. Rivier leads the Gulls 3-4 all-time while the Panthers have only faced Endicott once. The tournament will be great competition for the program heading into conference play in early December.

When they return home they will host their second NESCAC opponent of the season in Bowdoin on November 18th. The meeting will be second between the two squads while the Polar Bears have walked away victorious both times. In the contest last season the Gulls were just edged 56-67 in Polar Bear territory.

Endicott will host one more non-conference home game before starting conference play, as they face Emmanuel on November 22nd. The pair have faced off 17 times and the Blue and Green have yet to defeat the Saints, who finished 19-8 (11-0 GNAC) last season.

To kick off December, the Gulls will go head to head with cross-town rivals, Gordon, for the first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup of the season. Endicott leads the Fighting Scots 17-10 all-time while taking 13 straight wins, dating back to 2005. The contest will start a three game stretch of conference games. On December 6th the Blue and Green will travel to the University of New England and then travel to Eastern Nazarene on December 9th. Last season the Nor'easters blanked the Gulls in both meetings before claiming the CCC title while advancing to the second round of the NCAA DIII Tournament.

To wrap up the 2014 year, Endicott will play two non-conference games. On December 11th they will host MIT while traveling to Salem State on December 13th for a North Shore Cup matchup.

To kick off the New Year, the Blue and Green will host Brandeis on January 3rd, for the last non-conference game before treading into deep CCC action until March.

Three days later, on January 6th Endicott will start their 15 game-stretch of conference matchups as they travel to Salve Regina. The Gulls are 9-14 all-time against the Seahawks but have won three of the last five matchups.

On January 8th the Gulls will host conference rivals, Roger Williams. Last season the pair faced off three times, while each split in the regular season matchups before the Hawks ousted the Blue and Green from the CCC Tournament. The Hawks fell to the University of New England in the championship game in 2014 but still advanced to the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid.

Two days later on January 10th the Gulls will host Curry before traveling to Nichols on the 15th. To wrap up the first round of conference play The Blue and Green will travel to Western New England on the 17th and host Wentworth on the 20th.

On January 24th the second round of conference play will begin as Endicott hosts Eastern Nazarene. To wrap up January they will host the University of New England on the 28th and travel to Gordon on the 31st.

The Gulls will compete in six more conference games throughout the month of February wrapping up the regular season on February 21st when they host Wentworth.

With an aggressive regular season schedule the Blue and Green will sure be ready to start the CCC Tournament which will begin on February 24th with the quarterfinals. The semifinals are set for the 26th and the championship set for February 28th.
