Colby-Sawyer Secures First Place in CCC North

NEW LONDON, NH - Colby-Sawyer College wrapped up first place in the Commonwealth Coast Conference North Division with a convincing 79-57 win over Endicott College Thursday night at Coffin Field House.

The Chargers led by just five points at intermission but scored 42 points over the final 20 minutes to secure the top seed in the North Division of the CCC with a record of 15-1 (19-1 overall). The Gulls will finish second in the North Division by way of its 12-4 conference record (15-9 overall). Endicott will wrap up the season Saturday when it hosts Roger Williams. The CCC Playoffs begin next Tuesday.

Colby-Sawyer put four players in double figures, led by Kristin Sorensen's 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Anne Coulter's 16 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Lisa Cole added 15 points and four steals and Noelle Surette dropped in 12 points, nine rebounds and four assists in the win.

Sophomore guard Aubrey Drugan (Salem, NH/Bishop Guertin) and senior guard Jodi Brown (Coventry, RI/Coventry) each put home 13 points to lead Endicott. The only other Gull in double digits was Liz Yuneman (Middle Village, NY/St. Francis), who had 12 points. Drugan also had a team-high three steals.

The Chargers, who shot 43 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc, dominated the boards, holding a 44-30 rebounding advantage.
