Endicott Shuts Down Roger Williams, 9-1 and 5-0

BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott softball team traveled to Roger Williams for a conference doubleheader on Sunday afternoon and the Gulls came away with a 9-1 win during the first contest and a 5-0 shutout during the second. 

ENDICOTT 9, ROGER WILLIAMS 1 (6 INN.)

The Gulls tallied five runs during the top of the second inning on RBI doubles from Hayley Arduini (Southington, Conn.), Peyton Atkins (Goshen, N.Y.), and Gina DeMilt (Princeton, N.J.) to take the early lead. 

Roger Williams saw it's lone run cross the plate in the third inning to make it a 5-1 game. 

Endicott then tallied one run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to secure the 9-1 win. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the Endicott offense as she went 2-for-3 at the plate with one RBI. 
  • DeMilt and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) each went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
  • Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) improved to 8-1 on the season with the win in the circle (6 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 SO). 
  • Alyssa Murray (Green Brook, N.J.) was credited with the loss for the Hawks in one inning pitched. Ellie Fleming (Marshfield, Mass.) came in during the second inning and finished out the contest. 

ENDICOTT 5, ROGER WILLIAMS 0

During the top of the third inning, the Gulls capitalized on several errors, a hit batter, a walk and a double from Misiaszek to gain a 4-0 lead. 

Endicott then added one more run in the sixth on an RBI single from Hannah Llewellyn (Danvers, Mass.) to stretch the advantage to 5-0. 

The Gulls shut down the Hawks the rest of the way to earn the victory. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Laura Somerville (Suffield, Conn.) improved to 6-1 overall, with the complete game win (7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO). 
  • Lia Nocella (Tyngsboro, Mass.) shifted to 2-3 with the loss for Roger Williams, while Hailey Prechtel (Glenmont, N.Y.) also saw one inning of action in the circle. 
  • Misiaszek led the way for Endicott as she went 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (20-4, 10-0 CCC) travels to Wentworth for a conference doubleheader on Tuesday, April 16 starting at 4 PM. Roger Williams (12-16, 4-6 CCC) hosts Salve Regina for a 2:30 PM doubleheader on Thursday, April 18.
