Favreau, Bettencourt Headline Softball CCC All-Conference Honors

2018 CCC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team saw six student-athletes named to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) All-CCC teams and two major award winners, as announced by the conference office on Thursday afternoon. Freshman Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) was named Rookie of the Year as well as to the All-CCC Second Team and head coach Katie Bettencourt was named Coach of the Year. Hayley Arduini (Southington, Conn.) and Gina DeMilt (Princeton, N.J.) were named to the All-CCC First Team, while Jamie Hopgood (Warwick, R.I.) joined Favreau on the All-CCC Second Team. Rounding out the list were Maggie Oram (Lexington, Mass.) and Emily Sharpe (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) who earned All-CCC Third Team accolades.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR / ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM

Adrianna Favreau | Fr. | 2B | Tewksbury, Mass.

Favreau was named Rookie of the Year after earning Rookie of the Week accolades twice throughout the 2018 season. The freshman second baseman has amassed an impressive .458 overall batting average on the season, which currently leads the CCC. She has also recorded a total of 44 hits, 11 doubles, two triples, two home runs, and 24 RBI throughout the year. 

COACH OF THE YEAR 

First-year head coach, Katie Bettencourt was named Coach of the Year after an impressive first season at the helm of the program. She has coached the team to a 28-4 overall record and 16-2 mark in CCC play. The Gulls are also currently on an 11 game winning streak and secured the No. 1 seed in this year's tournament.  

ALL-CCC FIRST TEAM

Hayley Arduini | Jr. | OF | Southington, Conn.  

Arduini finished the regular season with an overall batting average of .368 and .404 on-base percentage. She has recorded a total of 32 hits, two doubles, three home runs, and 21 RBI on the season. This is the third season in which Arduini has earned All-Conference honors. 

Gina DeMilt |Jr. | OF | Princeton, N.J. 

DeMilt completed the regular season with 33 hits, eight, doubles, three triples, 18 RBI, a batting average of .376, and an on-base percentage of .406. 

ALL-CCC SECOND TEAM 

Jamie Hopgood | Jr. | 1B | Warwick, R.I. 

Hopgood put together several impressive numbers throughout the regular season, including a .408 batting average, .471 on-base percentage, 42 hits, 15 doubles (ranks 1st in the CCC), three home runs, and 28 RBI (4th in the CCC). Hopgood was named CCC Player of the Week once previously this season and was also named HERO Sports Softball HERO of the Week (3/23/18). 

ALL-CCC THIRD TEAM 

Maggie Oram | So. | P | Lexington, Mass. 

Oram has appeared in 15 games for the Gulls this season and has a 10-1 record with two saves. She has pitched a total of 76.2 innings with 67 strikeouts and an ERA of 2.74. Oram was named CCC Pitcher of the Week once this season (4/23/18).

Emily Sharpe | Sr. | C | South Glens Falls, N.Y.

Sharpe has compiled 35 hits, seven doubles, one home run, 12 RBI, a batting average of .330 and an on-base percentage of .357 throughout the season. She also has a 1.000 fielding percentage and has successfully caught four runners stealing. This is Sharpe's second career All-Conference honor. 

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (28-4, 16-2 CCC) earned the No. 1 seed in the CCC Tournament and will host Salve Regina and either Gordon or the University of New England on Saturday, April 28 for the start of the double-elimination phase of the tournament.
