2018 Softball Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team starts the 2018 season looking to build upon last year's success as they advanced to the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) semifinals in 2017.

Head coach Katie Bettencourt begins her first year at the helm after spending the past two seasons as the head coach at Division II Assumption. 

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): The Gulls will look for leadership from several key returners such as All-CCC First Team selection Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.), All-CCC Second Team honorees, Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) and Emily Sharpe (South Glens Falls, N.Y.), and All-CCC Third Team selection Hayley Arduini (Southington, Conn.). 

MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): Endicott begins the 2018 season with several spring break games in Florida. The Gulls will face 10 different teams during the week of March 11, starting with The University of Maine at Farmington at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 11. The team has their home and conference opener on Saturday, March 24 when they host Nichols for a doubleheader (12 p.m./ 2 p.m.). CCC play wraps up on Sunday, April 22 as the Gulls travel to Salve Regina. Endicott finishes the regular season against Tufts on Tuesday, April 24 before the CCC tournament starts up on Friday, April, 27.

PRESEASON PLAUDITS (POLL): The Gulls were picked to finish third in the CCC Preseason Coaches' Poll with a total of 80 points and one first-place vote.

2017 YEAR IN REVIEW: During the 2017 season the team had an overall record of 22-16 and 11-7 in conference play. The Gulls advanced to the CCC semifinals where they fell to Roger Williams by a score of 2-0. 

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott opens the 2018 season against the University of Maine at Farmington at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 11 in Leesburg, Fla.
