Emily Sharpe Earns NFCA All-Region Honors

ENDICOTT SOFTBALL ALL-REGION AWARDS HISTORY

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Endicott softball's junior catcher Emily Sharpe (South Glens Falls, N.Y.) has garnered National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III New England All-Region honors as announced this week.

Sharpe, an at-large selection, landed a spot on the Third Team for her first career NFCA accolade.

Sharpe is one of the 360 student-athletes honored in 2017 by the NFCA across the country's eight NCAA regions in Division III this season and joins four other representatives of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC): Gordon College's sophomore third baseman Megan Jenkerson (Second Team), as well as three more Third Team At-Large honorees in Western New England University's senior Gabby Lavinio and freshman Aimee Kistner, and Roger Williams University's senior Meredith Moise.

Sharpe, a first-time All-CCC Second Team, appeared in a career-high 26 games as a junior catcher/designated player for the Gulls. She batted a career-high .410 with a career-high/team-best .577 slugging percentage. Additionally, she was fourth on the team in hits (32) with seven doubles (third-most on the team) and a career-high two home runs, including her first career home run at Nichols on 04/17/17. Sharpe recorded 16 RBIs (third-most on the team), including a career-high four RBIs in the same game at Nichols on 04/17/17 and scored a career-high 10 runs, including a career-best two runs in the same game at Nichols on 04/17/17.

With eight multi-hit games and three multi-RBI efforts, Sharpe also owned the longest hit streak on the team this season by hitting safely in 13 games from 04/17/17 to 04/29/17. She also reached base safely in 15 games for the second-longest streak on the team this season. On the field, she made a career-high 88 putouts with 13 assists and just two errors in 103 total chances for a .981 fielding percentage with one double play and caught 21.4 percent of potential base stealers (6-of-22)
