Gulls Battle to a 4-4 Tie

Gulls Battle to a 4-4 Tie
Gorham, ME-- In the second game, with one out remaining, senior Elyse Colby tripled home the tying run, as the Gulls rallied back to even the score at four. The Gulls were up by two in the top of the 8th, but the game was called due to darkness, and because a full inning was not played, the score (4-4) reverts back to the previous, full inning.

The Gulls picked up two runs in the second thanks to a Chelsey Conant double, and a passed ball allowed Conant to score from third, giving the Gulls the two run lead. In the 5th inning, the Gulls were down by two, but came within one run off a Colby single, brining in Laura Schack who had doubled to begin the inning.

Freshman Paula McGinn started the 7th off with a single and advanced to second on an Ashley Labella sacrifice hit to third. McGinn stole third and crossed home plate on a Colby triple, knotting the game at four.

The Gulls post an overall record of 17-2-1, 10-1 in the CCC. The team plays the University of New England today for a double header at home. The first pitch is set for 3:30p.m.
