Game 1

Endicott was able to pull off a thrilling extra innings win in Game 1 of today's doubleheader versus New England College. Nicole Reather paced the Gulls on the mound throwing 8 innings improving her record to 7-3. Reather gave up four hits, one earned run, walked one and struck out four in route to the victory.

The Gulls wasted no time getting their side of the scoreboard lit up. The bottom of the first inning started with Ashley Labella beating out a bunt for a single. Jennilee Danielson then bunted her to second. Elyse Colby then hit Labella home with an RBI single.

In the 3rd inning, the Pilgrims scored their lone run on an Alysia Coats homerun.

With the score tied 1-1 through 7 innings, extra innings were needed to decide the winner. The Pilgrims started with pinch runner Christina Aiello on second and she moved up to third on a fielder's choice. With one out, Laura Mahoney hit the ball towards 3B Kacy Beloin who in turn fired a dart to catcher Katie Doherty to cut down the lead runner. The Gulls managed to get out of the inning unharmed and give themselves a chance to win.

In the bottom of the 8th inning, Labella was placed on second and advanced on a Danielson sacrifice bunt. Head coach Mark Veilleux then called for a suicide squeeze which was executed perfectly by Megan Huckins, scoring Labella from third winning the game 2-1.

Offensively, Labella finished up 2-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Huckins and Colby each finished 1-3, with an RBI.
