Gulls Finish Third In Endicott Invitational Meet

TOPSFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's cross country team finished third overall out of nine teams on Saturday morning in their second-ever home meet at Bradley Palmer State Park. 

Nichols led the way in the Endicott Invitational with 57 points, while Wentworth followed in second place with 72 points. The remainder of the standings included host Endicott in third place (75), followed by Emmanuel (102), Mass. Maritime (134), Regis (141), Emerson (149), Salve Regina (197), and Eastern Nazarene (278).

For Endicott, Adam Germaine (Guilford, Conn.) was in front for the Gulls finishing strong in fourth place (29:22) on the 8-kilometer course. Not far behind Germaine was Jack McGuire (Hopkinton, Mass.) who finished 10th overall (29:57), while Zachary Heffernan (Biddeford, Maine) finished in 18th (30:38), Marcus Poccia (West Greenwich, R.I.) was 21st (31:06), and Will Connelly (Barrington, R.I.) ranked just behind him in 22nd (31:11). 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • This is the second year Endicott has hosted this event, increasing the participating schools from three to nine.
  • The Gulls' top-five runners all finished among the top-25 overall runners.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott will travel to Van Cortland Park in the Bronx, N.Y. on Sunday, September 22. They will be participating in the York College Invitational which is scheduled to begin at 11 AM.
