Men’s Cross Country Finishes 27th At NCAA DIII Regionals

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men's cross country team concluded its 2016 season with a 27th place finish out of 56 teams at the NCAA Division III New England Regional meet, held at Stanley Park, on Saturday afternoon.

MIT claimed the New England Regional title with 110 points, while Williams ranked second (110), and Amherst came in third (141). The Engineers held the advantage over the Ephs in the top-3 finishing spots among each team's five scoring runners to claim the tiebreaker.

James Dwyer (Berlin, Conn.) led the Gulls with a personal best time of 26:57.91 on the 8-kilometer course, which was good enough for 122nd place overall. Zach Marshall (Hinesburg, Vt.) ranked second on the squad with a time of 27:03.29 (127th overall), while Patrick Finocchiaro (Salem, N.H.) was 158th overall (27:31.01), and Will Connelly (Barrington, R.I.) came in 194th place (28:04.91).

Brendan Sasse (Westport, Mass.) and Joshua Weinmann (Laconia, N.H.) followed with personal best times of 28:42.17 (236th) and 29:01.31 (254th), respectively, while Adam Germaine (Guilford, Conn.) rounded out Endicott's top-7 with a time of 29:05.10 (259th).

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Endicott ranked second among all Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) programs in today's meet.
  • The Gulls have finished inside the top-30 at regionals the last two seasons.

2016 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

Endicott finished second overall at the CCC championships this fall marking a tie for its highest finish at the conference championship meet (2016, 2001).
