Men’s Volleyball Bounces Back Against Baruch, 3-0

BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Baruch, 3-0, on Saturday evening by scores of 27-25, 25-15, and 25-20 on the campus of Emmanuel College.

Jake Laborde (Brookline, N.H.) and Dean Warner (Kinderhook, N.Y.) both compiled double-digit kills to lead the Gulls to victory over a Baruch squad that previously beat No. 8 New York University earlier this week (1/25, W, 3-2).

Laborde finished with a career-high 15 kills on 33 swings (.303), while Warner nearly posted a double-double via 12 putaways (.500, 12-2-20) and nine digs (tied team-high).

Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) initiated the offense to a season-high .293 hitting percentage behind 36 assists (match-high).

Aidan Iacovelli (South Windsor, Conn.) also chipped in with nine kills and nine digs in the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Today's contest was the first meeting between the two programs since 1/26/18 (EC win, 3-0).
  • The matchup featured 22 ties (16-0-6) and eight lead changes (7-0-1).
  • Vance Mallory (Playa del Rey, Calif.) was a perfect 15-for-15 on serve receive (four of his six digs led to kills).
  • Iacovelli went 21-for-22 on serve receive (.955).
  • Dan Battista (Bethlehem, N.Y.) registered a career-high six digs in his second collegiate match.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (2-1) competes against No. 13 New Paltz and host Emmanuel in a tri-match tomorrow at 2 and 4 PM, respectively.
