No. 13 Men’s Volleyball Tops Lasell, 3-1

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 13 nationally ranked Endicott men's volleyball team posted a 3-1 non-conference victory over Lasell University by scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-17, and 25-11 on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Donovan Dey (Fairport, N.Y.) highlighted the Gulls' efforts via career-highs in kills (20, .548) and service aces (8).

Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) also contributed 16 kills (.480) and eight digs, while Erich Roman (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Gabe Felicetti (Charlestown, R.I.) both produced nine kills, respectively.

Meanwhile, Chad Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) dished out a match-high/career-high 40 assists on 61 attempts (.656).

After Endicott hit .583 in the opening set (25-19 win), both teams battled over the next two frames as the Gulls and Lasers combined for 22 ties and 10 lead changes (10-5 second set | 12-5 third set).

Dey was the main reason Endicott broke up the 1-1 tie in set three (25-17) as the senior opposite compiled a set-high eight kills on 11 swings (.636) to lead the Gulls.

From there, Endicott notched a match-high .750 hitting percentage in set four to sure up the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Dey's eight service aces are tied for seventh all-time in a match.
  • Endicott hit at a season-best .475 clip tonight (59K, 12E, 99TA).
  • The Gulls went 60-for-63 on serve-receive (.952).
  • Roman put together a solid passing stat line on serve-receive as 12 of his 17 receptions led to kills (.706).

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (3-2) will host a tri-match on Saturday, February 1 against MIT (11 AM) and Johnson & Wales (3 PM). Lasell takes on SUNY Poly (3 PM) and Springfield (5 PM) this Saturday.
