NECC ACADEMIC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's volleyball team tied a program record as seven student-athletes earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference honors on Tuesday, as announced by the organization earlier today.

Endicott's seven representatives on the list were seniors Matt Bozek (Exeter, N.H.), Seth Braquet (Destrehan, La.)Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.), Jacob Newman (Chester, N.H.) and Devin Racey (Voorheesville, N.Y.), junior Chad Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.), and sophomore Erich Roman (Glastonbury, Conn.).

"As we continue to elevate the standards for our program on the court, the young men in our program have also raised their level of success in the classroom," said Endicott men's volleyball head coach George Chapell '08. "I am proud of our entire roster, which currently possesses a cumulative team GPA of 3.27, and in particular, the seven honorees that were named to the Academic All-Conference team, tying a program record."

The Gulls were far and away the most well-represented team in the conference, accounting for half of the 14 honorees in the NECC. In order to be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference honors, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00, and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings.

NOTES

  • The Gulls tied the program record with seven Academic All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season.
  • Endicott has been an associate member of the NECC since 2012.
