Healy Named NECC Defensive Player Of The Year; Four Gulls Claim All-Conference Honors

NECC ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Five members of the Endicott men's volleyball program have earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) postseason honors, as announced by the league earlier today. Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.) highlighted the group of award winners as the senior libero was named the NECC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season.

Meanwhile, joining Healy on the list of NECC postseason honorees were All-Conference first team selections Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.), Donovan Dey (Fairport, N.Y.), and Jeremy Doski (Sandy Hook, Conn.), as well as All-Conference second team honoree Seth Braquet (Destrehan, La.).

In addition to his All-Conference first team laurels, Dey was also named to the All-NECC Sportsmanship Team.


RYAN HEALY | SR. | L | DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

In 29 matches played this season, Healy ranks second in the conference in digs (251) and fifth in digs per set (2.54), while his conference-only ranks include the runner-up spots in both categories, digs (122) and digs per set (2.98). Healy's serve-receive numbers also a feature a .969 percentage among all matches (417 attempts, 13 errors) and a .985 percentage in conference-only contests (132 attempts, two errors).

Nationally, Healy is positioned No. 31 in digs per set among 200 ranked student-athletes. Healy's play also has aided the Gulls to a No. 34 national ranking in digs per set (10.11).

Healy, who is the only two-time Defensive Player of the Year in Endicott men's volleyball program history, has 10 or more digs in 13 matches this season and sports a season-high 17 digs against then-No. 12 Elms on March 26. He also ranks second all-time in digs with 925 total.

BRYN LIPTON | JR. | OH | NECC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

Lipton has compiled 3.41 kills per set (252 total), a .326 hitting percentage, 0.55 service aces, 0.35 blocks, and 1.55 digs in 23 matches played in 2019.

Lipton's NECC ranks include: kills per set (4th), kills (3rd), hitting percentage (1st), service aces per set (2nd), service aces (41, 3rd), digs per set (26th), digs (115, 23rd), blocks per set (13th), blocks (26, 14th), points per set (4.2, 2nd), and points (308.0, 3rd). He also ranks first in conference-only matches in kills per set (3.70) and points per set (4.4).

Nationally, Lipton is No. 21 in the country in aces per set, No. 35 in hitting percentage, No. 26 in kills per set, and No. 20 in points per set.

Match-highs for Lipton include 26 kills against Cal Lutheran (3-2 win on 3/19), 14 digs versus Stevenson, and five service aces against Wells.

Lipton is now a three-time NECC All-Conference first team honoree.

DONOVAN DEY | JR. | OPP | NECC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

In 28 matches played this year, Dey has registered 2.68 kills per set (233 total), a .310 hitting percentage, 0.57 blocks, 0.47 service aces, and 1.08 digs.

Dey's NECC ranks include: kills per set (8th), kills (6th), hitting percentage (3rd), service aces per set (6th), service aces (41, 3rd), digs per set (42nd), digs (94, 35th), blocks per set (4th), blocks (50, 3rd), points per set (3.5, 6th), and points (301.5, 4th).

Now a two-time NECC All-Conference first team selection, Dey also ranks No. 28 among all NCAA Division III student-athletes in aces per set, No. 50 in hitting percentage, and No. 65 in points per set.

JEREMY DOSKI | SR. | OPP/S | NECC ALL-CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM

Doski, who transitioned to the setter position this year, has amassed 1.38 kills per set (106 total), a .267 hitting percentage, 6.03 assists, 0.40 blocks, 0.55 service aces, and 1.56 digs in 23 matches for the Gulls.

Doski currently ranks fourth in the conference in assists per set and fifth in assists (464). He also is situated third in the NECC in service aces per set and second in service aces (42).

Nationally, Doski is No. 17 in aces per set and No. 68 in assists per set. As a team, the Gulls are ranked No. 1 in hitting percentage in the country.

Doski also leads Endicott in double-doubles with five and has recorded 20 or more assists in 14 matches this season.

Today's postseason announcement marks Doski's second career NECC All-Conference award and first career selection to the first team.

SETH BRAQUET | SR. | MB | NECC ALL-CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM

In 20 matches played this season, Braquet has put together a stat line of 1.64 kills per set, a .385 hitting percentage, 0.72 blocks, and 1.11 digs.

Braquet's NECC ranks include: kills per set (15th), kills (87, 26th), blocks per set (3rd), blocks (7th), and points per set (2.1, 17th).

His .385 hitting percentage would rank first in the conference if Braquet met the following requirements: played in 60% of team games and registered 3.3 total attacks per set. His current hitting percentage is .59 percentage points better than first place.

Meanwhile, the senior is now a two-time NECC All-Conference second team selection.
