No. 11 Men’s Volleyball Bests Newbury On Senior Day, 3-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The No. 11 nationally ranked Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Newbury, 3-0, by scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-14 on Senior Day at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Prior to the match, Endicott seniors Matt Bozek (Exeter, N.H.), Seth Braquet (Destrehan, La.), Jeremy Doski (Sandy Hook, Conn.), Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.), Conner Holland (Derry, N.H.), Jacob Newman (Chester, N.H.), Devin Racey (Voorheesville, N.Y.) and student assistant coach Staci Sonke (Bishop, Calif.) were all honored in a ceremony for their contributions to the program and the Endicott community.

Highlights from the match included a career day from Bozek as the senior outside hitter notched a career-high/match-high 16 kills on 27 swings (.444) to go along with one service ace and seven digs.

The Gulls also saw Braquet compile eight kills (.583), while Racey put together a stat line of six kills, 21 assists (match-high), three service aces, a trio of digs, and three block assists.

Meanwhile, Doski's day consisted of two kills, nine assists, and two digs. Newman added three kills and four blocks (one solo), while Holland contributed four kills, one service ace, and two block assists. Healy rounded out the list of highlights with seven digs (tied match-high) and two assists.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Bozek's 15th kill of the match was the 100th of his career.
  • Endicott is 35-10 all-time against Newbury.
  • The Gulls have won the last 19 meetings versus the Nighthawks.
  • Endicott improved to 8-1 at home this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 11 Endicott (23-6, 13-1 NECC) earned the second seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Tournament and will host the winner of No. 6 Dean/No. 3 Nichols on Thursday, April 11 at a time to be determined later.

Newbury will travel to No. 4 Eastern Nazarene on Tuesday, April 9 as the fifth seed in the tournament.
