Men’s Volleyball Downs Wells & Elmira To Open 2019 Season

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Endicott men's volleyball program opened up its 2019 season with a pair of 3-1 victories over Wells (16-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15) and Elmira (21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-19) on Friday night in the St. John Fisher Classic.

ENDICOTT 3, WELLS 1

Behind double-digit kills from Donovan Dey (Fairport, N.Y.) and Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.), Endicott erased a 1-0 deficit in the match to pick up the win in its season opener.

Lipton tied for the match-high in kills with 13, while Dey registered 11 kills on 21 swings (.429). The Gulls were also aided offensively by Jeremy Doski (Sandy Hook, Conn.) and Gabe Felicetti (Charlestown, R.I.) who both collected six kills apiece.

Other highlights for Endicott included a 16-assist and eight-dig performance from Devin Racey (Voorheesville, N.Y.) and seven digs from libero Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.).

ENDICOTT 3, ELMIRA 1

In their second match of the night, the Gulls hit .312 as a team to defeat Elmira and complete their perfect night.

Lipton guided Endicott offensively with 13 kills on 25 swings (.440), two service aces, a pair of digs, and one block assist.

Erich Roman (Glastonbury, Conn.) also tied his career-high for kills with 10 on 18 attempts (.444) and Doski contributed nine kills, 24 assists, three digs, and a block assist.

Meanwhile, Chad Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.) and Felicetti rounded out the list of highlights for the Gulls in the win. Riorden compiled 18 assists, two service aces, and three digs, while Felicetti notched eight kills (.312), three service aces, one dig, and five blocks (three solo).

Endicott (2-0) wraps up play in the St. John Fisher Classic tomorrow against the hosts, St. John Fisher College, at 1 PM.
