2017 MEN'S VOLLEYBALL VIDEO SEASON PREVIEW

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team opens up its 2017 season this Thursday and Friday at the Kean Winter Classic, hosted by Kean University, located in Union, N.J. Here's a quick look at the Gulls' 2017 season.

PRESEASON PLAUDITS: Endicott has received nine votes in the American Volleyball Coaches' Association (AVCA) preseason poll, and was also ranked first overall for the sixth straight season in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) preseason poll. The Gulls enter their 2017 campaign as the four-time defending conference champions.

SCHEDULE: Endicott will open up the year against No. 10 nationally ranked Kean University on Thursday at 3 PM before taking on Cairn at 7 PM. The Gulls will then wrap up their first weekend of competition against Hunter on Friday at 11 AM.

Endicott's January schedule will also feature matches against No. 1 Springfield (1/21, 6 PM), No. 15 Rivier (1/21, 8:30 PM), No. 9 Wentworth (1/25, 7 PM, at home), and MIT (1/28, 11 AM), who is receiving votes in the AVCA preseason poll.

RETURNING CAST: The Gulls return three out of their top-5 hitters from a season ago including Troy Riorden (Fairport, N.Y.), Daniel Toth (Glenwood, N.J.), and Jeremy Doski (Sandy Hook, Conn.). Riorden led the trio at 2.45 kills per set last season, while Toth notched 2.23 k/s and Doski averaged 2.09 k/s.

Sophomores Devin Racey (Voorheesville, N.Y.) and Ryan Healy (Fair Lawn, N.J.), and seniors Ryan Sutherland (Fairport, N.Y.) and Tyler Willgoos (Newington, Conn.) will also play pivotal roles as returners in Endicott's quest to capture its fifth-straight NECC title.

YEAR IN REVIEW: Endicott captured its fourth-straight NECC title in 2016 en route to an appearance in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Gulls finished 2016 with a 17-11 record overall, and a 9-1 mark in conference play.
