Endicott Rallies to Beat Regis 3-1

WESTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's volleyball team dropped the first set to New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Regis (Mass.) on Thursday evening but rattled off three straight set wins to improve to 7-1 in NECC play with a 3-1 (24-26, 25-14, 25-14, 25-14) victory. Gulls senior outside hitter Brennan Lowe (Malibu, Calif.) tied his career-high of 12 kills for second straight match and did not make an error as the Gulls sported an exception .471 hitting percentage as a team.

Endicott (11-8, 7-1) continues their stretch of six-straight conference matches on Wednesday, March 26th with a road game at Lesley starting at 8:00 pm. With the win over Regis, Endicott improved to 10-0 all-time against Pride while the Gulls own a 14-0 mark over Lesley.

The Gulls were match up with three Regis attackers that reached double figures in kills as freshman Zach Sindoni (Haverhill, Mass.) totaled a team-high 14 kills with sophomore Joe Coye (Plaistow, N.H.) and freshman Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) adding 12 kills apiece. As a team, however, the Pride only hit .135 as a team as Gulls senior libero Aaron Jessee (Okinawa, Japan) led all players with 11 digs with sophomore John Osborne (Freehold, N.J.) adding seven digs.

Endicott's blocking was a factor as well with senior middle Travis Netherton (Waukegan, Ill.) leading with seven blocks, senior Josh Anderson (La Canada, Calif.) stuffing six Pride attacks at the net, and senior Mike Coniglione (Glenville, N.Y.) adding four blocks..

Offensively for the Gulls, Lowe's 12 kills were bested only by fellow outside John Osborne who had a match-high 15 on a .360 hitting percentage. Netherton struck 10 kills on 16 attempts at a .375 clip and fellow middle Conigione contributed with seven kills. Anderson and sophomore Daniel Toth (Vernon, N.J.) added four and two kills, respectively.

Setting the Endicott offense was sophomore setter Tyler Bacon (Cypress, Calif.) who amassed 46 assists in four sets. In his last two matches, Bacon is averaging 11.0 assists per set.
