Coleman and Ostrander Make NECVA All-Star Team

April 4, 2006

BEVERLY, MA - Freshmen Dan Coleman (Millis, MA/Millis) and Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warenville) were named to the First-Team All-New England Division by the NECVA. Coleman was also named the Rookie of the Year.

Along with the New England honors, Coleman has also been named to the AVCA First-Team All-America honors in just his first season at Endicott. Coleman established the school record for digs in a season, recording 512 in 113 games played.

The Millis native also set, and reset, the school record for digs in a game on separated occasions. His season-high for digs came on February 21, 2006 at Newbury College when he came away with 38 digs in just three games. Aside from averaging 4.53 digs per game, Coleman slugged 43 kills, had seven aces and recorded two blocks.

Ostrander was a standout outside hitter for the Gulls. He led the team with 460 kills (4.30 per game), 56 aces (0.52 per game), and 556.5 points. He also had 235 digs (2.20 per game) and 63 blocks (0.59 per game).

The two Freshmen led the Gulls to a 12-19 overall record and 5-6 in NECVA play. Endicott is looking forward to the next three years to see what these two young men will accomplish both individually and for the team.
