BEVERLY, MA - Milwaukee School of Engineering needed five games but the Gulls were able to sneak past Endicott College, 3-2, Sunday in non-conference volleyball action.

In the fifth and deciding match, the schools were tied from 2-2 to 7-7 before at two, three, four, five, six, and seven before the Raiders reeled off two straight for a 9-7 lead. The visitors extended that cushion to 13-10 but Endicott climbed back into the contest and cut the deficit to 13-12. But the game and the match belonged to MSOE, which closed the game on consecutive kills by Mike Mocchi (Wheeling, IL/Buffalo Grove).

Endicott came from behind to win the first game, 30-28, before the Raiders reeled off two straight (30-28, 30-27). The Gulls scored the first six points of the fourth game and jumped out to a 12-2 advantage before taking the game, 30-13.

Freshman Clay Ostrander (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton-Warrenville) supplied Endicott with a team-high 22 kills, three aces and 16 digs while senior Mike Coflesky (Royalston, MA/Athol) chipped in 18 kills and junior Matt Keepin (Harwinton, CT/Lewis S. Mills) recorded 14 kills and three blocks.

Freshman setter Dan Coleman (Millis, MA/Millis) broke the school record for digs in a five-game match, picking up 24 digs. The Gulls set a school record for team digs in a five-game match with 83.
